A loss of capacity by a friend or family members can be distressing.  It is important for people to be looked after from a welfare perspective, and to ensure that their property is well-managed.  Pre-planning these matters through appropriately supervised enduring powers of attorney is a key way to avoid elder abuse.

When pre-planning goes wrong, we act on claims to obtain the appointment of property managers and welfare guardians.  We also act on claims to review decisions of attorneys, remove attorneys, and in claims for breach of fiduciary and other duties.
